At what height should a ballet bar be installed?

After you have bought the long-awaited ballet barre for training, the installation is now up, and that raises an important question: At what height should the ballet barre be mounted? There is no definitive answer to this question, as the height of the barre depends on the size of the person training.

I always advise my customers to follow a simple rule: Stand up straight and bend your arm at a 90-degree angle. Your hand should comfortably rest flat on the barre—that is the appropriate height. This guideline works well at home when only one person will be using the barre.

But what should you do in a studio or community center where both adults and children will be using the barre? In such cases, a double barre is recommended. We offer double brackets with the distance between the bars either 20 cm or 25 cm. Typically, these brackets are mounted so that the upper bar is at a height of 100 cm.

Another solution, which I believe is especially suitable for children, is a barre with adjustable height. As the children grow, the barre can grow with them, always remaining at the ideal height for their needs.
