Once you've purchased your dream ballet barre for practice, the next step is installation, which brings up an important question: "At what height should the ballet barre be installed?" The answer to this question is not straightforward, as the height of the barre depends on the height of the person using it.
I always advise my clients to follow a simple rule: stand up straight and bend your arm at a 90-degree angle at the elbow. Your hand should comfortably rest flat on the barre—that is the appropriate height. This guideline works well at home when only one person will be using the barre.
But what should you do in a studio or community center where both adults and children will use the barre? In such cases, a double barre is recommended. We offer double brackets where the distance between the barres is either 20 cm or 25 cm. Typically, these brackets are installed so that the top barre is at a height of 100 cm.
Another solution, which I believe is particularly suitable for children, is an adjustable-height barre. As children grow, the barre can grow with them, ensuring it remains at the ideal height for their needs.
